WELCOME

It is with deep sadness that I have to tell you of the passing of one of Our Founder Members and Patron, Ron Pike. He served tirelessly as an officer on the committee of 'The Seal and Blue Point Birman Cat Club' in various roles, until his health deteriorated when he took a less active but supporting role as patron.

The emergence of the newer colours and dilutes were making it difficult to keep pure Seal and Blue lines, Ron believed that the two original Birman colours needed to be protected and from this passion the club was formed; “Behind every Birman is a Seal or a Blue”. Ron and Carol under the prefix ‘Caroona’, stayed true to this aim and their cattery still breeds pure Seal and Blue lines.

Ron spent many of his later years on Cyprus where he worked with feral cats and shelters and adopted strays himself, putting into practice his passionate care for all things feline. This work has been continued since Ron’s ill health by Carol and her friends who have frequently set up and funded neutering programmes on the island by raising money here in the UK.

Both before and after forming the “S&B” Ron was active within ‘The National Cat Club’; the first cat club in the UK dating back to the Victorian Era.

Ron’s enthusiasm and hard work within the Cat Fancy was legendary until ill health required him to take a back seat. In recent years he was cared for at home by Carol until his death on November 8th   2025.

Our condolences go to Carol, their family and friends at this sad time.

He will be sadly missed.

Funeral arrangements will be posted here once they are available.

despite our name, WE care deeply about all Birmans, regardless of their colour

We focus on promoting the breeding and exhibiting of Seal and Blue Point Birmans to help protect the foundations of this amazing breed.

Without a solid Seal and Blue base, like those of the original Birmans, we’d lose some of the precious characteristics that make Birmans so special.
